Michael J. Emonds is the President and co-owner of M. J. Emonds Mechanical Contractors, LLC. Mike and his wife, Kerry, launched the company from their home in 1995 and have shaped it into a major force in the HVAC contracting world. They currently employ a professional, full-time staff of 10 HVAC technicians, installers and sheet metal fabricators.
Mike has an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Hartford State Technical College and a Diploma in HVAC from Technical Career Institute, Windsor, CT. He is licensed in the State of Connecticut as a S1 Heating, Piping & Cooling Unlimited Contractor (HTG.392776). In addition, the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society certifies him as a Universal Technician, ID #039900338. North American Technician Excellence, Inc., an organization dedicated to recognizing high-quality industry technicians through voluntary testing and certification, has also certified Mike Emonds (ID# 1028562) for both installation and service on the following: air conditioning, air-to-air heat pumps and gas furnaces.
From 1986 until 1995 Mike worked for Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation in Hartford as a Customer Service Representative. In that role he was responsible for repairing gas furnaces, burners and equipment. He also inspected contractors' installations to ensure they met the manufacturer's guidelines.
As a Service Technician for Pelletier Sheet Metal, Inc. Mike installed, maintained and repaired heating and air conditioning equipment. In this position he gained extensive knowledge and experience in refrigeration piping, gas piping, sheet metal work and control wiring.
